Appeal for the donation of a 10 seater van (APV)
The condition of Health in developing countries like Pakistan is extremely poor and needs immediate attention. Keeping this in mind FLAME has started a healthcare program for the students of its schools. A team of 10 qualified doctors visit 10 FLAME schools every week in a Mobile Health Unit (MHU) consisting of a Chinese Suzuki van to treat some 350-400 students for ailments that are curable but get worse if left unattended. The schools which are visited every week are located in areas which have either no roads or roads with holes and ditches and speed breakers.
Our present van “Roma” is more than 3 years old and has done nearly 50,000 km. Its wear and tear is very high because of the extremely poor condition of the roads. Consequently, our lady doctors who have to go to visit 10 FLAME schools every week in slums of Karachi at a driving distance of 1 hour each way suffer a great deal of hardship and are unable to reach the schools in good time to examine all the children.
Hence we urgently need a new van for the MHU which is necessary to look after the health of children who live in poor, underprivileged and disease infested areas. Discontinuation of this service will not only lead to a relapse of ailments among thousand of poor children but would remove an incentive to the parents for sending their children to FLAME schools.
You can donate a 10 seater van (APV) or the equivalent amount of $ 18,560.
